We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Accountant who doesn't shy away from driving key initiatives. As a Senior Accountant, you will be involved in moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.  The ideal candidate must possess a solid understanding of accounting concepts, specific to GAAP 606 revenue recognition, and appreciates working in an inclusive, respectful, collaborative environment. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage accounts receivable invoicing, and sales order processing in cooperation with the sales operations team.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies.
  • Manage revenue recognition ensuring all contract revenue is recorded in compliance with GAAP (606).
  • Collaborate with sales’ team, services, and support teams to create, maintain and finalize processes to manage sales orders, including but not limited to price estimate creation and contract renewals to ensure higher customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and manage CRM Business Accounts and opportunities.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of sales compensation plans.
  • Coordinate the creation of ad-hoc reporting in a rapid and efficient manner.
  • Document, educate and consult with the sales organization on all matters relating to contracts, sales, and billing.
  • Ensure accounting records, monthly accounting close activities, and variance analyses are properly prepared, maintained and explained in a timely manner.
  • Record journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and conduct variance analysis in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Calculate sales commissions on quarterly basis.
  • Assist with system implementation (to include Avalara) to improve accounting efficiency. 
  • Operate and maintain systems supporting the provisioning of new customers, applications, and features.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams.
  • Actively share best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services, and recommend changes to policies and procedures that affect the team and accounting organization as a whole.


Qualifications

  • BA in Accounting or related experience.
  • GAAP 606 revenue recognition experience is a must, preferably in SaaS.
  • Experience performing common accounting and financial analysis, presenting results and trends, and making actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting theory, issues, and systems, with solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Basic comprehension of the transactional flow through various systems to monitor and ensure accurate financial results.
  • Key knowledge with common ERP systems including sub-modules, including the development, implementation and/or maintenance of one or more accounting systems.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision on complex projects and represent accounting on enterprise projects. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills and the ability to balance a large group of diverse projects simultaneously with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated level of maturity and judgment and the ability to remain objective and develop trusting and respectful relationships at all levels.
