We are actively seeking a motivated and collaborative Product Marketing Manager (PMM) who will be responsible for ensuring PlexTrac product flies off the shelf for the market you’ll represent! This role is critical to our growth as it is the glue that binds our product strategy to the tactics we need to drive success in marketing and sales, and achieve results. As the Product Marketing Manager you are responsible for organizing product and feature launches, as well as product demos and presentations.


This role will study the markets PlexTrac plays in, and develop an intimate knowledge of our competitors—what they are offering today and what they plan to offer in the future. As the PMM you must deeply understand our buyers by taking a strategic approach to gathering insights and market evidence, and then use that knowledge to develop positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and empowers our sales and marketing teams to be successful. 


As the PMM you will fill a critical role on the marketing team by collaborating closely with the team to develop innovative campaigns that drive demand and generate revenue by approaching everything with a testing, analytical and inquisitive mindset, leaving your assumptions aside and letting the data guide the way.  An ability to understand and present PlexTrac’s product value proposition in a compelling and resonant way, and clearly articulate how we solve our buyers’ problems will be key to your success. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Market intelligence: Deep understanding of the overall market for our solutions (Cybersecurity market as a whole, total addressable market, market segments and industries with opportunities).
  • Persona/buyer intelligence: Become the expert on who we serve (who are the buyers, how they buy and their key purchase criteria).
  • Competitive intelligence: Be the expert on our competitive landscape, how they are positioned, how we win against them and how they can win against us.
  • Understand and document the customer journey and our buyer’s processes (where they get information, influences, where they frequent, etc.), then drive internal change based on learnings.
  • Develop close working relationships and collaborate constantly with product management and the marketing team to develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target buyer personas.
  • Plan the launches of new products and releases of existing products, and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure your product is well represented in the overall marketing plan; recommend potential activities, campaigns and events to support the acquisition of new customers and the retention of existing ones.
  • Together with product and sales, build the right packages with the right pricing strategies to win in the market.
  • Collaborate closely with the product evangelist, and act as the primary thought leader, to ensure your product is being represented, understood and amplified in the market.
  • Together with the product evangelist, you’ll understand and support our sales channels; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users; develop internal tools and external collateral, and teach them how and when to use it.  
  • Monitor customer usage of your product, and seek feedback, to ensure it’s delivering value and resonates.
  • Willingness to travel, as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience with a SaaS or software company; cybersecurity experience ideal.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented. 
  • Analytical, data-driven mindset; inquisitive by nature and implements tests to gather insights.
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is, or isn’t, working. 
  • Proficient in productivity applications such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Asana.
  • Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack and Salesforce, and marketing automation tools such as HubSpot.
  • Power user of networking tools such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Motivated self-starter, who is a team player through and through
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; MBA preferred.
  • Pragmatic Institute Certified (PMC) III or higher preferred.
