The Professional Services Developer I position is charged with delivering custom solutions to PlexTrac partners that build upon the core platform. These solutions fall into two primary categories:

  • Templates that use a template coding language to render data from the PlexTrac platform into the desired partner reporting methodology.
  • In-Platform products, such as custom Questionnaires or Runbooks.

PlexTrac’s platform allows information security teams to easily collect and enrich vulnerability data for delivery to their stakeholders. This data can be delivered electronically in the platform, however many partners also deliver a traditional document-based report. As part of our white-glove professional services, PlexTrac provides highly customized templates for document production to use in conjunction with our core platform. These templates structure the data in the desired format and apply cosmetic formatting in accordance with the partners' style guide.

Templates are produced using the Jinja2 language which is easy to learn for anyone who has a novice level of programming experience.

Close coordination and collaboration with partners will be required to ensure partner success. This includes written, teleconference, and occasional in-person meetings to discern partner intent and to work iteratively through deliverables of the products.

To be successful in this role, you will need basic programming skills that provide a foundational knowledge of conditional statements, loops, lists, variables and functions. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word (Office 365 Edition) is required, and advanced formatting knowledge is desired.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create custom code for partners to produce document-based deliverables consistent with their desired reporting methodology and aesthetics.
  • Meet with partners as required for clarifications of intent.
  • Be able to identify and explain technical limitations when partner desires are not currently obtainable.
  • Provide live or teleconference demonstrations of delivered products.
  • Capture desired revisions to products as communicated from partners.
  • Create story tickets for partner desires that are not currently technically possible.
  • Create bug tickets when expected export functionality is not observed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some familiarity with basic coding, equivalent to a semester introductory course or a coding camp.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, with emphasis on Styles and Table Design.
  • The desire to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying technical concepts to all levels of user technical competency.
  • Attention to detail to ensure tracking and resolution of all issues.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and with professional standards of grammar in written communications.
